Every month I'm going to have a topic and share my feelings about 7 recommendations. Some you may agree with. Many you may not. Feel free to take my recommendations. Or feel free to make fun of me. I've got strong shoulders and can take it!!!
When the weather is 70 - 115, and when you have the dry desert heat hitting your skin, the only place to be is where the water is at. Vegas has some of the nicest pools in the world. And when the wife and I are on vacation, there's a very good chance that is where you'll find us.
This is a must do when in Vegas. Especially when the weather is too cold to hit the pool. There's nothing better in life than going to a hockey game in flip flops. The city loves their hockey team. And they have a tremendous product!!! GO KNIGHTS GO!!!
Hugo's Cellar is one of my favorite restaurants around. Located at the 4 Queens Casino downtown, this place is cheap enough to be one of the best deals in town. But also high end enough to make you feel like a big wig. You won't feel like you lost when leaving Hugo's.
The wife and I accidentally found this place. And every time we visit Las Vegas, we dine here two to three times during our stay. Fresh made from scratch pasta, great wine, and amazing deserts make this place a must! You'll need a cab or an Uber to get here. But worth the drive. At least in my opinion.
Spend an afternoon here and maybe even pack a lunch. Red Rock Canyon is about 15 miles of breathtaking views, hiking, picnic tables, and scenery. Located about 35-40 minutes from the strip, this is a great way to wind down from all of the lights, glitz, and glamour.
Well if this was Tiffany's list, this would be number 1. Since I'm not much of a wine drinker these days, I'll put it at 6. There certainly isn't miles and miles of grapes and scenery to look at. In fact this is in a strip mall. However, the people here are always so nice. And the service is incredible. Give it a try.
All I can say is wow. Where is there a place where you get lush greenery, mountains, water, warm weather, and golf courses as far as the eye can see? Lake Las Vegas! Stunning views. Tons of resorts. And even a few restaurants too. Tiffany and I usually head out here once or twice per trip.
Wildfire is my favorite restaurant in Eden Prairie. Conveniently located 5 minutes from my home. It's a high end restaurant with great food, and yummy drinks. You won't feel cheated when you're bulging out of your jeans after leaving Wildfire after a great night out!
Lions tap serves burgers. Period. And delicious ones at that. An Eden Prairie staple. Not bad on the budget either.
Tavern 4&5 not only has the best breakfast in Eden Prairie, but has a fun bar and delicious all day menu to boot. All around probably the best and most versatile menu in the western burbs.
Fantastic restaurant just minutes from Lake Minnetonka. Food is always amazing. Service is wonderful. And the maple butter that comes with the popovers will make you wanting more!!!
Red Stone is a wonderful American Grill (getting the theme here yet). Known for their Stoli-Doli's, Red Stone does it all both on the food and the drink side. Location is next to a nice water feature right outside their beautiful upscale patio. Jerk Chicken Fondue is how I roll. The wife orders a bbq flatbread to eat there, and makes sure she always orders one to go as well for lunch the next day.
El Loro is a wonderful spot to eat quick, and inexpensively here in Minnesota. For those south of the border cravings, why buy Chipotle, when for roughly the same price you can get waited and get chips and salsa for free.
Lake Minnetonka is where the pretty people are at. And when in Rome, do as the romans do. When it's sunny in Minnesota, you go where the action is at. And when the weather is nice, the action is at Maynards on Lake Minnetonka!
